1960s bach exterior, all timber. Re-clad three failed weatherboards, lead-paint encapsulation on remainder, two-coat X-200 system.
1962 bach in Plimmerton, owned by the same family for three generations. Hadn't been painted in 14 years. South-west wall paint had failed entirely; other faces were sound but chalking.
Lead test positive across all original paint layers. Family wanted to avoid full strip if possible — we encapsulated where the substrate was sound and replaced three boards on the worst face. Resene X-200 in Resene Sea Fog, with Hi-Glo on the joinery in Resene Pohutukawa.
Twelve days on site. Owners drove down from Wellington to walk through on completion — said it was the first time the bach had looked sharp at the bach more than the worry-list.
