ABOUT US

A small Wellington crew, doing painting properly

Eight directly-employed painters. Seventeen years on the tools. One straightforward way of working.

OUR STORY

Started on the tools, still on the tools

Matt Harbour started the company in 2008 after ten years painting in Auckland and Sydney. The first year was Matt and one apprentice doing rental repaints across the Hutt Valley. Word got round, the work got bigger, the team grew.

Today we run eight painters and a small office. Every one of them is directly employed — no labour-hire, no subcontract chains. The person who walks through your house at the quote is the person who's there on day one.

We work across the whole Wellington region, from Paraparaumu down to Wainuiomata. Roughly 60% residential, 30% commercial and body corp, 10% insurance and specialty work. We turn down jobs we can't do well — we'd rather lose a quote than overpromise.

  • Wellington owned and operated since 2008
  • Eight directly-employed, qualified painters
  • 1,500+ projects completed across the region
  • Master Painters NZ, Site Safe, Resene & Dulux accredited

HOW WE WORK

What makes a job last ten years instead of three

Prep is most of it. Product is the rest. Anyone who skips either is selling you a redo in two years.

  • Process
    01
    Proper prep, every time

Wash, scrape, fill, sand, prime. We do not skip steps to win a quote on price. Bad prep is why paint fails early.

  • Standards
    02
    Two topcoats minimum

One coat saves the painter time, not the customer money. Every exterior gets two topcoats over primer, on every surface.

  • Materials
    03
    Right product for the surface

Weatherboards get a different system than concrete. Bathrooms different from bedrooms. We spec the product to the substrate.

  • Quoting
    04
    Fixed-price quotes

You sign off on a number, not an estimate. If we hit unexpected damage, we tell you before the cost moves — no surprise invoices.

  • Site
    05
    Cleaner than we found it

Dust sheets on every interior, drop cloths on every exterior, all rubbish off-site daily. Photos before and after, every job.

  • Warranty
    06
    Five-year workmanship warranty

On every interior and exterior repaint. If our work fails inside five years, we come back and fix it. In writing.
